Ing. Prof. Tomasz Bajerowski – was born on December 22, 1957 in Warsaw. In 1982 he graduated from the Faculty of Geodesy and Rural Development at the University of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn (now the Faculty of Geodesy, Geospatial and Civil Engineering of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn). In 1987 he he started to work at the University. In 1991, Prof. Bajerowski received his PhD degree in the field of geodesy and cartography; in 1997 he received the “dr hab. degree” (“Habilitatus doctor”). In 2005 the President of Poland awarded Prof. Bajerowski the title of professor of technical sciences. In the years 1999-2002 he served as vice-dean of the Faculty of Geodesy and Land Management. He is currently employed as a full professor and serves as head of the Department of Geoinformation Analysis and Cadastre.
He has published over 120 scientific papers, including 26 books and monographs, as author or co-author. He supervised 11 PhDs. Prof. Bajerowski was awarded twice by the Ministry of Education, the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (15 times). He was honored with the Silver Cross of Merit (1999), Medal of the National Education Commission (2015), Bronze Medal “Merit for the National Defense League” (2007) and the badge “Merit for the Wrocław University of Life Sciences” (2008).
In his research works Prof. Bajerowski focuses on the theoretical basis of spatial planning, management of spatial planning, the shaping of safe spaces, methodology of geospatial analysis and the use of GIS for the needs of spatial crisis management and proactive Counter-terrorism.
Prof. Bajerowski lectured at postgraduate studies in the field of Security Analysis and Terrorist Threats of the Terrorism Research Centre of Collegium Civitas in Warsaw ( “Forecasting as a tool to counter-terrorism”, “Geoinformation in predicting the location of terrorist events”).
Prof. Bajerowski is also Real Estate Auditor (Reg. No. 1051).
